Where the journey began
It all started in a land far, far away from blue skies, crystal blue sea and the hot sun (aka the UK), where our founder, Holly, had an undying need to see the world. But she found herself experiencing more than her fair share of anxiety-heightening, travel mishaps that although funny to look back on, really were preventable if she just got a GRIP!
Mishap numero uno
After a fun but exhausting 11 consecutive days on her feet at a work event, she packed her suitcase as quick as possible, sitting on the case to cram everything in and headed for her Boss' car trip home. As she went to take the luggage out of his car in a public car park, the zip on the case broke and yes, everything from her toiletries to underwear were falling to the floor along with her dignity. She was mortified.
Mishap numero dos
Shortly after recovering from Boss seeing her underwear / 9 months later, she travelled alone to Monaco for another work trip. After her 4am start, she was stood at the baggage claim in Nice realising she has absolutely no clue what the suitcase she 'packed myself' / aka work asked her to take, looked like. She thought there had to be a better way to stand out from all the suitcases that look the same. But Holly's early start and lack of food (insert sympathy here) meant she didn't quite hit the nail on the head at this point.
Mishap numero tres
Which leads us to mishap numero tres... 10 minutes later. Work had crammed so much in the suitcase that it was top heavy and wouldn't walk along seamlessly next to her like the Monaco vibe she was manifesting but instead all she was getting back pain. The anxiety of mishap numero dos repeating itself was back whilst being none the wiser that suitcase covers and packing cubes would have made her travel experience far more enjoyable.
Interests
Holly wishes there were only three travel mishaps to share but speaking to her friends and family, she realised it wasn't just her! From her cousin's suitcase containing her WEDDING DRESS being snatched, to countless loved ones buying a lovely new case for it to be scuffed to bits after just one flight, she began working on the answer.
With a passion for photography and design, Holly wanted to build a brand of high-quality products that makes a difference... And allow her to get a GRIP!
